SCIENCE MEETS BREATH

Discover the power of breathing

My mission is to restore your functional breathing patterns to help you optimize your physiology. I provide high value, science-backed methods to reduce anxiety, chronic stress, improve sleep, performance, and reclaim a physiological sustainable balance. Stress, physiology imbalance, and anxiety do not discriminate, and neither does the power of the breath.

Why do I need to restore my breathing patterns?

  • You will feel more grounded, less reactive, and better able to handle life’s challenges without feeling overwhelmed. Proper oxygenation balances the sympathetic (“fight or flight”) and parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) nervous system branches, promoting calm and resilience, reducing blood pressure, and promoting cardiovascular health.
  • You will feel more energized during workouts , recovering faster, and experiencing less strain or soreness in your body. Better oxygen delivery enhance exercise capacity and speeds recovery, reducing fatigue and injury risk.
  • You will experience a clear mind, better focus and concentration, enhancing resilience by establishing new neural patterns.
  • You’ll wake up refreshed, think more clearly, connect more deeply with loved ones, and move through life with greater ease. Better sleep, feel calmer, think clearly, recover faster, better connection with yourself and others.

Breath Optimization Trainings

Breathing patterns directly influence your physiology and stress response. In a training with me you will learn how to use breathing science to reduce chronic stress, ease anxiety, and improve mental and physical performance. I am not talking about one session to calm you down, but a multiple session designed training to relearn and restore your natural efficient way to breathe 24/7

What is Functional Breathing?

Functional Breathing is a pattern of breathing that efficiently supports the body’s psychological, physiological and biomechanics needs. It is a way of breathing that optimizes oxygen (O2) delivery, carbon dioxide (CO2) balance, and physiology regulation both at rest and during movement. In practical terms it means a nasal minimal quiet breathing volume, a normal breathing rate per minute, and a respiration based on a diaphragmatic movement.

Signs and symptoms of a dysfunctional breathing pattern can show up as frequent sighing or yawning, chest and shoulders dominant movement when breathing, shortness of breath at rest or mild activity, tight chest or throat, dry mouth, feeling unable to get a full breath, cold hands and feet, blood pressure fluctuations, lack of sleep, focus and energy, tension in neck, jaw, and shoulders, anxiety, hyper alertness, fatigue, difficulty calming down after stressful situations, snoring, mouth breathing.

Desi Soto – Leading Instructor.

Here it is a bit about myself; there was a time when my life’s focus was my career, and a relentless pursuit of success for the sake of being “successful”. I can’t complaint, I liked my job and thought I was enjoying my life, but at the same time I was feeling a profound sense of lack of purpose. My badge of honor was pushing through work, and life, including all the trivia: deadlines, expectations, constant pressure, until a few “out of my control” life’s wake-up calls decided otherwise. The wake up calls, led me to a radical but fulfilling career change, and by effect, to a new whole life change, but more than that, to a new way to see life; In introspection time, among many decisions taken, I decided to navigate a field that I was already practicing in my personal life for years; a practice that helped me navigate the constant changes in my life without impacting my health and clarity of mind: breathing work. I made it a mission to bring these teachings to the South Florida Latino community, however, while my work is rooted in this mission, my door is open to everyone. Stress and anxiety do not discriminate, and neither does the power of the breath. Everybody is welcome here.

The core function of breathing supports your health and vitality. Every cell of the body relies on oxygen to thrive; I invite you to look into your breathing patterns. How efficient is your breathing now?
